Andrea Ferri

Director of Land Conservation

Andrea Ferri is the director of land conservation, where she leads initiatives to protect and steward ecologically significant landscapes. She brings more than a decade of experience in conservation finance and land protection.

Before joining Chesapeake Conservancy, Ferri served as conservation finance manager at Blue Forest, where she supported landscape-scale forest restoration through innovative financing. She also managed The Conservation Fund's Conservation Loans Program, providing financing to land trusts nationwide to acquire and protect conservation lands.

Ferri earned an MS in environmental science and policy from George Mason University and a BA in environmental studies from the University of Tennessee. She also serves on the boards of DC EcoWomen and Rural Dog Rescue.

A native of the Washington, D.C., area, Ferri developed her passion for conservation by exploring local parks and discovering the connection between people and the natural environment. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband, two children and two rescue pit mixes.
