As Chesapeake Conservancy’s volunteer coordinator, placed by CORE Susquehanna AmeriCorps for a year of service, Hannah Klim facilitates the day-to-day logistics of Chesapeake Conservancy’s central Pennsylvania programs.

Responsible for recruitment and outreach, planning and running events and providing education and training, Klim serves the community by providing opportunities to participate in programs such as the Live Stake Collaborative and Riparian Rangers: Union County. Klim aims to connect the community with local waterways by creating opportunities to participate in water quality maintenance, learn about local ecology and contribute to conservation and restoration initiatives.

Klim is a Susquehanna University alum with a degree in ecology and a minor in environmental studies and previously interned with Chesapeake Conservancy as a senior. More recently, Klim graduated from Penn State with a master’s in wildlife and fisheries science, where she researched aquatic organism passage barriers throughout Pennsylvania. In her free time, Klim enjoys baking, reading and especially skiing.
