Jay Schofield is a rising senior at Susquehanna University with a major in environmental science and a minor in ecology. During the school year, they work with the Freshwater Research Institute on campus as a restoration intern and environmental education and opportunities Intern. This summer, Jay is working with Chesapeake Conservancy to protect and maintain riparian buffers and is excited to learn more about herbicide application, plant identification and live staking.
Jay previously worked as a middle susquehanna riverkeeper intern at the Montour Preserve and has experience both as a fishing and kayaking instructor. They enjoy hiking, art and spending time with their cat. Some of their hobbies include taxidermy and bug pinning. They are excited to get outside and work in the field this summer.
