Project Coordinator/Geospatial Analyst

As a project coordinator/geospatial analyst, Katie works on the Chesapeake Tributaries Initiative to support Chesapeake Conservancy’s rapid stream delisting initiative, as well as other projects.

Katie earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and Spanish from Gettysburg College. She later earned a GIS certificate from Penn State World Campus.

Katie has a varied career background, starting with seasonal work in agriculture and horticulture after college, followed by a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA in coastal Oregon. She then spent nine years supporting Spanish-speaking English language learners as an instructional assistant in the Kennett Consolidated School District in Pennsylvania.

She is passionate about biodiversity, habitat conservation and community and environmental engagement. She enjoys reading, gardening, hiking, Latin dance and spending time with family and friends.
