Nellie Rhodes is a junior at the University of Kansas pursuing a bachelor’s degree in ecology, evolution and organismal biology witha minor in environmental studies.

Rhodes grew up and lives in Chestertown, MD where her time spent outside and on the water has inspired her interest in studying and protecting the environment. Regarding this internship, she is most excited to balance her scientific studies by learning about fundraising and community engagement while working with the development team.

Rhodes also works at Worthmore Equestrian Center managing the barn and training horses and serves as the secretary of the board for Bridges at Worthmore which focuses on equine-assisted therapeutic services. In her free time, she enjoys riding and taking care of her own horse, playing lacrosse, hiking, paddleboarding and reading.
