Darlene serves as an intern for Adrienne Gemberling at Susquehanna University’s Freshwater Research Initiative. She is originally from central New Jersey and grew up around the nature and landscapes of Lake Hopatcong. Currently a senior at Susquehanna University, Darlene is studying biology. Her studies have taken her around the world, including Australia for a semester abroad and the El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico for research on the coqui frog. She is currently conducting research on the effects of an herbicide on stress response in two-lined salamander larvae. After graduating, Darlene plans to further pursue education in physiology.
