Isabel Layton

Bilingual Interpretive Outreach Assistant

Isabel grew up in northern Maryland and frequently made trips down to the Chesapeake to learn more about its unique ecosystem. While home-schooled, she took advantage of the classes and workshops provided to explore the animals, plants and soil around the bay. This love for the environment drives her to study environmental science with a concentration in culture and the environment along with a Spanish minor at the University of Maryland, College Park. Through her high school and university career, she has volunteered for clean ups and has organized and managed events catered for the public. She is excited to use her skills as a heritage Spanish speaker to share the wonders of the Chesapeake Bay with the Spanish-speaking community for a third summer. When not working, Isabel likes to rock climb, hike and participate in other fun outdoor activities with her friends and family.
