Jacob Czawlytko

Geospatial Data Engineer

Jacob’s work for the Conservation Innovation Center includes leveraging Python and R, and GIS to build data pipelines and support cutting edge high-resolution land cover generation using traditional and neural network-based classification methods. Jacob also assists water managers in the Colorado River Basin with water scarcity issues and ecosystem service analysis. Jacob is an FAA certified Remote Pilot and collects imagery and film using small UAVs.

Previously, Jacob worked with the Chesapeake Bay Program in Annapolis on future land cover land change modeling. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Geography and a Certificate in Geospatial Information Science from the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

In his free time Jacob enjoys getting outdoors to kayak, fish, backpack and climb, as well as cooking, homebrewing beer and mead.
