Michael Bowman

Communications & Outreach Specialist

Michael Bowman is a native Marylander, who grew up in Southern Maryland along the beaches of the Chesapeake Bay which gave him a passion for learning and protecting the environment. He is a graduate of Salisbury University with a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies and a minor in history. Following graduation, Bowman began work at the Chesapeake Conservancy as a seasonal staffer for the Chesapeake Roving Ranger during which he traveled throughout the watershed educating the public on the importance of the Chesapeake Bay and providing interpretive lessons.

Following this position, he began an internship with the Chesapeake Conservation Corps at the National Park Service Chesapeake Bay Office where he undertook duties relating to environmental education and public outreach. In his current position, Bowman manages social media channels, oversees our wildlife webcams, supervises our bilingual interpretive outreach program and plenty more. In his free time, Bowman likes to hike, go to the beach, read and spend time with friends.
