Javier Orellana Ostorga is a junior and first-generation student from El Salvador, currently studying political science with dual minors in journalism and human services, alongside an immigration micro-minor at George Washington University. Since he emigrated in 2016, Annapolis has become a second home to him. Throughout his life, Javier has been deeply connected to nature, from growing up in a small town next to a turquoise lake to exploring Maryland State Parks during high school. This has installed him with a profound appreciation for the delicate balance of ecosystems and the importance of environmental sustainability.

Javier actively works to empower Spanish-speaking communities, encouraging their active participation in federal, state, and local affairs and serving as a Spanish liaison, he contributes to building a more inclusive and sustainable future within the Latino community. During his free time, Javier loves taking long walks, creating artworks, and exploring the beautiful wonders our world has to offer.
