The Mamie Parker Journey: Inspiring Urban Youth to Embrace the Chesapeake
In 2015, the Conservancy worked with Dr. Mamie Parker, the first Black Deputy Director of the US Fish and Wildlife Service on the Mamie Parker Journey: Inspiring Youth to Embrace the Chesapeake speaker series. The program engaged students from 12 Baltimore high schools area about her conservation career and her inspirational journey, in order to expose them to career options in environmental fields.
